ALPHA: partit politiku - Media Release

ALPHA: partit politiku congratulates the competent authorities in our country for finally determining that Tuesday, October 5th, 2004, will be the day when there will be a ban on smoking in public places, particularly those associated with entertainment. It is a pity that all interested parties do not realize not only the nuisance that smoking causes, but furthermore the harm that it generates not only in smokers themselves but worse still in passive smokers, those victims of egotistical smokers who smoke in the presence of persons who are themselves non-smokers.

Minor children, particularly very young children and helpless babies, including fetuses in wombs who undergo immense suffering through the negligent and irresponsible behaviour of barbaric parents and silly mothers-to-be who despite all the warnings still are cruel enough to make their own flesh and blood not only suffer, but put them at unnecessary health risks when they carry on with there revulsive vice of smoking.

ALPHA condemns those sections of society who are making attempts to impede in someway-or-other the total effectiveness of a smoking ban in public places, particularly in the entertainment section.

Our country with all its difficulties needs a healthy population and irrespective of many other deficiencies in the health-awareness that we have in our country, let us not be irresponsible and callous to attempt to do anything to stop a total ban on smoking in all public places particularly in the entertainment sector.

ALPHA: partit politiku augurs the best of health for all the citizens of our country including the permanent residence and all European Citizens and World Citizens among us. An unhealthy country produces unhealthy people, which means an unhealthy infrastructure that will only lead to ill-affects on the overall welfare of our dear country.
