STATEMENT BY DR EMMY BEZZINA
OBO ALPHA LIBERAL
- Sunday, June 07, 2009 4:10 PM

Alpha liberal congratulates heartily Dr Joseph Muscat & the partit laburista for this predictably gargantuan victory.

This was not a victory for the EU parliament elections but a victory for the aggrieved and agonising thousands among us who are truly suffering with the stagnation and total lack of any sense of economic initiatives heavily overcasting our Malta republic, significantly on this Sette Gugnio commemorative day.

The country is ungovernable - we have stated this right from the outset following the aftermath of the march 8th general elections which resulted in a minority government taking over the reins of political power once more.

Deputy prime minister is completely wrong in attesting that they will complete their alleged mandate to govern. A government is there for the welfare & supreme interests of the people - the supreme interests of the people have dictated once again to this government to quit,to dissolve parliament & call for fresh general elections. The people demand it.

In the interests of Malta & its economically-grounded people, let a general election be called forthwith.

This was not an election for the eu parliament but a growling voice from the absolute & vast majority of the electorate that prospects of and for good governance in malta are obliterated and that a new government is in immediate need. Please take heed - the people have made their wishes glaringly be publicly known.

The people govern - long live the people.
