Lawyers Dr EMMY BEZZINA [veteran broadcaster] and Dr GAVIN GULIA [Member of Parliament & Shadow Minister of the Interior] have once again been invited by Smash-tv to conjointly present and produce the third educational series of Law Themes in Court - tv.

Court - tv was presented very successfully for two whole years without any breaks until the Law Series was concluded on June 8th, 2006. Because of its legal-educational format, SMASH had a heavy demand for the Series to be resumed. Dr Bezzina who this year celebrates his thirtieth year as a litigious lawyer and Dr Gulia who has also to see to his constituents` interests agreed to team up together yet again to co-present this Series which will now run till the end of June.

Each programme concentrates on a particular Law tracing briefly its background , the salient points in its parliamentary path until enacted, its coming into effect, its main features, its loopholes, its objectives, and its practical application in accordance with our society`s exigencies. In an hour-long programme, the presenting lawyers ( often with a guest very familiar in that particular overall legal topic ) discuss among themselves a number of practical, procedural, social and legal issues related to the Law being analysed. Difficulties ensuing from the practical applicability of the particular law are raised, dealt with , suggestions and remedies pondered upon, and the onlookers are left to reach their own conclusions.

SMASH is so keen that any law chosen for discussion is thoroughly discussed , analysed and above all understood , that very often up to three consecutive programmes are dedicated to the profound insight into the law in focus. The reason is because of the responsibility that no misconceptions about that law are relayed considering that Court-tv , apart from a substantial local audience, has a widespread global following through the internet and satellite broadcasting.

The first three programmes in the new Series are indeed being zoomed on Chapter 440 of the Laws of Malta,that is the Data Protection Act which was enacted in 2002 and is now fully enforceable. Court - tv has a classic virtual reality Set designed by Smash and is broadcast every Thursday with a Repeat at Prime time every following Saturday at 8.30 pm.The first programme went on air on Thursday, January 11th, and repeated at 8.30pm on Saturday, January 13th,2007.
